Birthday Bash - Doggy Style

The Birthday Girl: Zoey

PART TWO (Party Animal)

Mom and I were invited to a fox themed birthday party for one of my doggie friends who was turning four.  This doggie friend is a “Porkie” (half yorkie and half Pom – though we don’t hold it against her for the Pom half). She just happens to be as big of a fashionista as I, Carly am and an Upper Crust Pup in her own right. She even plays muse to a blog too. (Foxy Dog Style).  She looks kinda looks like a fox in the face so her mom thought having a woodland fox themed party would be right up her alley.

My favorite part of course is the doggie buffet. Specialty dog cookies shaped like fox heads, mushrooms, and trees. There were even some macaroon shaped cookies just for us furry guests. So much to choose from! I felt it important to be a polite guest and sample them all!

The human food table had a scrumptious champagne and strawberry cake as well as celery and carrot dishes (my human let me have some of those veggies - but I was holding out for cake!) There were candies, meat and cheese rollups (oh yeah I got some of that roll up too like I said in Part One it’s just RUDE to turn down food at a party!!), sparkling punch, and bottled water. The hostess made sure to cover all her guest’s bases (those with fur and without).

The decorations were in pale shades of pink and aqua with lots of cute little foxes set about the room. The hostess also made sure there was a photo station for pictures. She didn’t forget those Divo party animals as she set up a miniature fire hydrant on potty pads so few had to go outside during the party.

All the guests wanted to help
open presents!

After the humans nearly devoured the delicious cake (yes, I did make sure to stand close to mom to catch any crumbs!) presents were opened and so many remembered the fox theme and now my friend has enough stuffed foxes to last until her next birthday!
That's me, CARLY
Perfecting the "I'm starving,
please save a crumb for me" routine!

So what do you get for a cute little fox-face Porkie who has everything? We got her a Harlow & Grace custom made faux croc walking vest in brown with a felt fox face on the back. An added croc and satin bow with a Swarovski center as well as some squiggly eyes made this a fun outfit for the Porkie who has almost as many outfits as I do!
Of course, we also had to throw in a little stuffed orange and white fox toy.

Red Foxes and Hot Pink Hearts
Naturally, I needed a new outfit for the party. Wanting to keep with the theme a fox and heart theme print vest with multiple Swarovski crystals centered on the oversized organza and satin waist bow was just what the upper crust pup doctor ordered!. This vest had an added mini ruffled skirt to make it all the more girly. Of course, this upper crust pup needed a matching crystal hair bow.

Mom searched all over town for something with a fox theme for her to wear but couldn’t find anything…until the last minute when she found something fitting online but it was too late to order. Now high on her list for “must haves” is this adorable fox stole…knitted of course!
Foxy Scarf

Fitting wardrobe attire or not for mom, the party was fabulous and as always is something to look forward to each year. Our hostess was the definitely the hostess with the mostess as she made sure the guests left with a small gift bag and cute canning jars full of popcorn as a thank you.

After the party and we returned home Mom kicked back with a little fox theme party of her own. While I munched on some party leftovers she concocted this foxy little cocktail:

PINK FOX

1 1/2 ounces gin
1/2 ounce vodka
3/4 tsp pomegranate juice
1/2 tsp sugar
3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/3 cup Ginger Ale (chilled)

Add all ingredients (except Ginger Ale) to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds, add a few cubes of ice and shake again for at least 20 seconds or until cold.
Pour Ginger Ale into cocktail glass, add the shaken ingredients, and top with a small dollop of whipped cream and a maraschino cherry for garnish.
